Santa Fe Travel Guide

The beauty of a trail ride through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the southernmost range of the Rockies in New Mexico, is what originally drew me to Santa Fe. Named for the Spanish phrase meaning "Blood of Christ," the mountains are said to have earned their name because their reddish slopes appear to run like blood after a rainstorm and glow a deep crimson at sunrise and sunset. Although the highlight of my trip was celebrating my birthday with a trail ride alongside my dad, followed by a stop at the stables to feed the horses, I soon discovered that Santa Fe has even more to offer. During my five days there, I enjoyed shopping, exploring museums, dining at fantastic restaurants, wandering through the city's charming streets, and taking a day trip to Taos, another picturesque mountain town steeped in history and known for its vibrant arts community. Whether you're admiring the remarkable collection at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum or savoring the delectable mole at Sazón, Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a must-see for foodies, museum enthusiasts, adventurers, and shoppers alike.
